Time to let go of S&OP? One Plan | More Data | No Drama

Traditional business planning processes depend highly on complex forecasting methods based on the past with information fragmented and siloed in different departments. The whole process is not only very costly to set up, but results in lengthy discussions around subjective, individual forecasts and a consensus determined by averages. Volatile supply chain conditions require a radically different approach. In this session, Piet Buyck, CEO of Garvis will introduce assumption-based bionic planning, which leverages the knowledge of the planner with AI and aligns stakeholders to the optimal plan based on data, insights, and risk profiles within a month.

Your Strategy needs a Strategy and S&OP can help

Formulating a Vision and Strategy to sustain Profitability is one of the most important expectations from C-Suite. But executing that strategy and taking it from top floor to shop floor also requires a strategy. Strategy Execution is equally important as Strategy Formulation. Organisations that derive greater value-add from their strategies are ones that have an effective way of putting them into action on the tactical and operational level, which is where S&OP, on top of S&OE, plays an essential role.

Trends in sales and operations planning

Most companies run enterprise resource planning (ERP) software and enhance their material and resource planning through the use of supply chain management (SCM) software, which can be configured for planning and managing their specific supply chain challenges.

However, many planners still use spreadsheets for S&OP due, in part, to the widespread access to spreadsheet software and its flexibility. Spreadsheet technology, however, is incapable of taking advantage of modern advanced technology, such as artificial intelligence (AI), and is limited in the amount of data it can process. Additional concerns around spreadsheets as a secure mechanism for distributing company data create further challenges with this approach.

Join us to discuss the current trends to watch in the advancement of sales and operations planning.
